Frances Betancourt, M.S., OTR/L
Frances holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Puerto Rico. She is passionate about helping children and their families achieve meaningful goals, build confidence, and gain independence through play, family education, and evidence-based practice. Frances has a certification in Sensory Integration from the University of Southern California and is an SOS-trained feeding therapist as well as a SOFFI-certified professional. Additionally, she has training in the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and DIR/Floortime. Frances has worked with children and their families for seven years across various settings,
including outpatient care, home health, and early intervention. She has experience treating children with a wide range of needs, such as sensory processing issues, autism, ADHD, self-regulation difficulties, motor planning challenges, self-care skills, fine motor skills, visual motor/perceptual skills, and handwriting.
Frances has experience using the Zones of regulation, the Alert Program and the Social Thinking curriculum to help children build emotional regulation, coping skills, and social skills. She is currently pursuing advanced training in DIR/Floortime through the International Council on Development and Learning. She is committed to helping children gain independence and reach their full potential.
